Runoff ruts up to 6-8 inches deep cut the trail sides, requiring awareness to avoid catching wheels. The trail is lined with creosote bushes, smoke trees, and other flora, including blooming seasonal wildflowers, adding color and vegetation. Off-camber and washboard sections appear throughout, adding technical moments. Nice views of the Eastern Sierras and mountain ranges to the east provide layered scenery, with stunning views of the Eastern Sierra Mountains dominating certain vantage points. Watch for both marked and unmarked washouts that can appear without warning.
