Trail Overview

This is apart of Ballinger OHV. Considered desert highlands that has junipers, pinyon pines and scrub brush. Trail 24 (24W09.24) is the main trail that ranges between sandy and hard pack and potentially muddy sections. About two thirds of the trail it is mainly whoops following about a gradual incline though some pines and the remaining goes through washes that have very deep gravel sections. Please note this is the only trail that has access to the highway. There is a day use and camping fee. Pit toilets at the staging area. Limited cell service. Bring your own water.

Difficulty

There are many seasonal creek crossings, some of the trail is eroded away, and part of the trail follows a twisty wash that is mostly loose gravel. There are also few spots with deep ruts. Advising not to attempt if the trail is wet or water on the trails there are several sections that have clay.
