Trail Overview
This segment of West Side heads into the hills from the road on a very narrow segment of trail that side-hills across the hillside with mild exposure. It has several sharp corners as it follows the contour of the hillside, and has bigger loose rock in spots. This is a really unique part of the trail that is fun and a bit more technical due to the narrowness. It has some steeper climbs that are loose and rutted with embedded rock faces, and may be more challenging for beginner riders, and has exposure when it tops out of the climbs. It gets on a really skinny ridge line with a steep slope on either side of you, with great views. It descends down to an intersection with Heavenly Pass (more difficult), and heads north, and the trail becomes a bit easier from here, just flowing over the low rolling hills in and out of small washes. The trail pops out onto a road near the levee, or you can take a different easy segment of the trail over to LCR1804.
