Trail Overview
This is a pretty standard Arizona desert wash on the south end of the trail. Sandy and fast, these washes are fun to play in, especially when smooth and void of all washboards and obstacles. Some sneaky rocks may pop up in the wash after major rain events. On the north end, you'll find a narrow exit to the high plateau of this area. The trail up here has erosion and runoff tracks, some of them deep, so caution is urged. This land requires a yearly permit that can be purchased and printed online. The permit allows certain recreational activities, including camping, bicycling, bird watching, GPS-based recreational activities (geocaching), hiking, horseback riding, off-highway vehicle (OHV) usage, photography, picnicking, and sightseeing.
