Trail Overview
Prairie Loop is a side trail across the prairie of the Kaibab National Forest. On this loop, you'll cross open prairie filled with wildflower blooms (provided there has been enough rain) and sporadic mixed pine and juniper trees. This habitat is home to antelope, deer, and coyote, as well as other smaller animals like jackrabbits and squirrels. Along this route, there's plenty of room for camping, so just relax as you get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are no obstacles on this trail, other than the occasional erosion and wash crossing, and sporadic sections of rock.
