Trail Overview
This trail is the final northern section of Forest Service Road 214. The southern section is a maintained dirt road that only lasts about a mile. From there, the surface of the trail will turn rocky with sporadic rock gardens and loose rocks. The more rough areas on this trail are located in the rolling junipers with open meadows. The trail will traverse into ponderosas. In this area, there are some deep ruts that look to be a mess after any rain or snowfall. After these ruts, the trail turns hard to the northwest and opens up to rolling meadows with ponderosas and junipers. This area is significantly less rocky and eases to the intersection with West FS 229.
