Trail Overview

M0785 is an exhilarating north-to-south trail that connects the 96 Ranch Trail to Freeman Road access. This route offers a delightful blend of stunning scenery and engaging off-road challenges. As you traverse the southern section, the terrain presents a relatively moderate drive, perfect for enjoying the natural beauty surrounding you. However, as you approach the northern section, be prepared for rutted hill climbs and descents that add an exciting twist to your journey. Navigate off-camber sections and deep washouts while encountering short rock gardens requiring skillful driving and careful line choices to avoid sidewall damage. The views along this trail are particularly mesmerizing, especially in the early morning light when the foothills reveal their breathtaking majesty. The sight of the dense saguaros forest, many of which are mature and impressive with numerous arms, enhances the charm of this desert landscape. Throughout the trail, you'll come across several smaller dispersed campsites, making it an excellent option for those looking to enjoy a night under the stars. However, be aware that as you travel, the cellular service generally starts at one bar of Verizon LTE in the south, fading to none bars near the northern access point, giving you a sporadic mix of connectivity along the route. Important Note: Before setting out on your adventure, make sure to obtain your Arizona State Land Trust permit for legal access to this area. As always, prepare adequately with plenty of water and supplies, as the challenges of the desert environment can be unpredictable.
