Trail Overview

Lovetta's Loop begins with an exciting transition from Goff's Trail, quickly dropping into a sandy wash that sets the tone for the adventure ahead. As you navigate this twisting and turning route through the deep sand, remain alert for hidden rocks that may be concealed beneath the surface, adding an element of surprise to your drive. After approximately a mile and a half, the trail makes a sharp right, leaving the wash behind as you head south. Here, the path shifts to mostly hardpack, winding its way up and down hills that provide a pleasant change in elevation and scenic viewpoints. Before you reach the private land boundary, you'll discover a lovely dispersed camping spot ideal for a few rigs. This location also boasts excellent Verizon LTE service, making it a great place to catch up on messages or enjoy a moment of relaxation. As you continue down the trail, you'll encounter a gate marking the transition back to the main Lovetta Road. Please remember to keep the gates closed and treat the surrounding private land with respect to help ensure continued access to this area. Note that camping and hunting are not permitted beyond this point, as it primarily serves as a passage through private property. As the trail meanders back onto the main Lovetta Road, you'll enjoy the thrill of a few more fun hills along the way that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Important Note: Lovetta's Loop features sandy sections in the wash and loose hill climbs, which can present challenges requiring careful navigation. Be sure to prepare adequately for desert conditions by bringing sufficient water and supplies, and don't forget to obtain your Arizona State Land Trust permit before setting out on your adventure.
