Trail Overview

Forest Road 2736 tells the age-old story of the Kaibab National Forest. Feel free to take your time on this one-lane rocky road as you journey through a forest of Ponderosa and Pinon Pine, cross cattle gates and guards, and see burn scars that decorate this ancient forest. There are elk and cattle grazing and mud ruts that might slow your progress a bit, but no matter, the scenery from the top of the ridge will do the same as you gaze across the Coconino Plateau South, toward the San Francisco Peaks and beyond.

Difficulty

Mud ruts and rocky sections could prove challenging after a rain or snowstorm.
