Trail Overview
This 1.6-mile out-and-back trail climbs 100 feet through a deep sandy wash with mostly soft sand throughout. There are alternate branches you can take to reach the same spot, giving you options for navigation through the wash. You'll encounter quite a few large trees to maneuver around as you work your way through the sandy terrain. The trail gets very narrow near the end, where maneuvering around trees and brush is required, demanding precise driving in tight quarters. Great tires, four wheel drive, and airing down are highly recommended to maintain momentum and traction in the soft sand. The trail ends at the Yuma Proving Grounds, which is part of the Department of Defense.

Difficulty
The deep sandy wash with mostly soft sand is the main technical challenge, requiring four wheel drive, good tires, and airing down to navigate successfully. The large trees create obstacles that demand careful line choice and maneuvering. The very narrow section near the end with dense trees and brush adds difficulty and may challenge wider vehicles. Momentum management is critical in the soft sand.
