Trail Overview
This trail starts off South Cibola Lake Road from EC1125 in a popular RV camping area. The surface is packed sand with embedded rocks throughout as you navigate the terrain. There's sparse vegetation, including very small desert bushes and seasonal wildflowers, adding occasional color. The trail winds through small hills as it slowly climbs toward the Trigo Mountains, gaining elevation gradually. At mile 1.5, it climbs up a hill and takes you to a plateau offering 360-degree views of the mountains surrounding the area, including the Trigo Mountains. Once on top, you enter a vast wasteland of just rocks as far as you can see, creating a stark and otherworldly landscape. There are lots of spaces for dispersed camping throughout. This is BLM land.
