Trail Overview
The 150 Pits Trail serves as an access and camping trail in the area that is adjacent to the Wupatki National Monument. There are many campsites along this trail, with the Southern end around the pits having numerous flat spots available to be camped in. The cinder pit area looks like it serves as a jump-off point for nearby trail running and exploration as well as a possible home base for hunters and recreationalists alike. There are no obstacles on this trail. There is one bar of Verizon service, but we all know how reliable (or not) that one bar can be, so offline maps of the area are recommended. There are numerous side trails and interconnecting trails that crisscross the area as a whole, so feel free to explore. Local wildlife in the area include but are not limited to elk, deer, antelope, and various bird species.
