Trail Overview
Bird Point is a one-way, engaging trail located near the southeast of landing zone 8 near the park entrance. Running parallel to the main trail and starting at landing zone 8, it serves as an enjoyable alternative for those venturing into the park. The trail begins with a steep ascent featuring small rock ledges, followed by a winding path through a wooded area. Along the way, you may encounter several mud holes, which can vary in difficulty depending on recent rainfall. During wet conditions, the trail may become more challenging, and exiting about halfway--where the trail intersects with the main path--could be advisable. The final section includes another steep climb that is manageable for most 4x4 vehicles in dry conditions but may require extra caution when wet.

Difficulty
Bird Point is rated as 4 in difficulty due to its steep climbs, uneven terrain, and the potential for mud holes that can deepen after rainfall. Drivers should be prepared for changing trail conditions, particularly after wet weather, as ruts and slick surfaces can make navigation more challenging. The climbs can reach 24 degrees and the descent can reach 27 degrees and the larger rocks will be slick during rain.
