Trail Overview
Starting from the El Rosario-El Triunfo route, this off-road trail immediately descends into an arroyo, passing a couple of ranches before quickly transitioning to steep inclines. At the "Paseo" rock, it's advisable to engage four-wheel-drive and air down your tires, as you'll encounter a series of 20-40 meter rock slabs and climbs interspersed with rocky sections. After navigating several ascents and descents, the trail leads to a desert oasis featuring palm trees and a water crossing. Beyond the oasis, longer climbs begin, marked by an abandoned vehicle and culminating at a summit flanked by cliffs--an area prone to rockslides. From there, the descent requires careful wheel placement due to deep ruts, followed by about a mile of zigzagging through a mix of smooth roads and sandy arroyo. A slight climb brings you to a closed gate just 20 meters from the main road. Motorcycles and quads can bypass the gate to the left, while larger vehicles will need to open the barbed wire gate to proceed. Once through, you'll reconnect with the main road.

Difficulty
This trail is classified as a rock trail due to its more challenging sections consisting primarily of rocky terrain. It's essential to have the capability to air down your tires and engage four-wheel-drive, as some steep climbs will demand extra traction. These climbs and descents typically feature stretches of steep rock no longer than 20 to 30 meters at a time. Later sections of the trail present additional challenges, with narrow paths and deep crevices that require precise wheel placement. Keep in mind that while Baja is generally dry, conditions can vary. This trail was mapped under dry conditions. Also, keep in mind this trail is very narrow and low in some spots for a full-width 4x4.
