Portuguese Meadow - FS 24S15

Trail Overview

Portuguese Meadow FS 24S15 departs from Highway 155 and runs along a shelf road through green brush, grasses, and tall pine trees within Sequoia National Forest. Evidence of the 2021 French Fire is very evident throughout the route. Beautiful views of the valleys below and mountains in the distance open up consistently along the shelf road sections. Cattle graze the area seasonally, so watch for livestock on the trail.

Difficulty

Small ruts up to 6 inches deep are the primary technical challenge on the otherwise smooth, hard-packed dirt and gravel surface. The shelf road character warrants steady attention throughout. Street-legal vehicles only are permitted, and no green sticker vehicles are allowed.
