Trail Overview
North Shore Main is a wide, grated gravel logging road that offers an easy cruise through a picturesque landscape of forest and mountain views. The trail is lined with trees and thick vegetation, creating stretches of stunning canopy coverage that arch over the road, which is particularly scenic in the early morning light or late afternoon glow. While the road surface is generally smooth and well-maintained, expect occasional potholes and shallow ruts in certain areas. Several small bridges span creeks and runoff channels, all easily passable for standard vehicles. Due to its open layout and dry surface, the trail can become quite dusty with passing traffic, so be mindful when traveling in groups or during busier weekends. Throughout the route, you'll be rewarded with intermittent views of the surrounding mountains that rise above the treetops, adding scenic depth to the drive.
