Trail Overview

Eve River Main, also known locally as Eve Main, is a wide gravel and packed dirt forest road that connects the Island Highway to the Eve River and beyond. The trail begins with expansive views of lush green hillsides, flanked by tall, slender trees and vibrant wildflower fields that stretch along both sides of the road. At the 4 Kilometer mark, the trail narrows to two lanes and descends into dense forest, paralleling the Eve River below. This section includes travel in and out of old cut blocks, offering open glimpses into the surrounding valleys and ridge lines. While the road is generally smooth and well-traveled, there are sections along cliffs with significant drop-offs, requiring cautious driving and attentiveness to your speed. Though easily passable, it's best suited for vehicles with good tires and a full-size spare, especially if venturing beyond the standard stretch.
