Trail Overview
Atluck Main is a logging road. It is a graded gravel route that winds through dense forest and follows the course of the Tahshish River. This active logging road sees frequent traffic from heavy equipment and trucks, so drivers should exercise caution and be prepared to yield or pull over when necessary. After the logging operations, you may encounter some downed trees along the roadside. While these occasionally protrude into the roadway, they remain passable with care. Starting around Mile 5 (from the lake), the road narrows as it enters a lush, thick forest, creating a more enclosed and shaded atmosphere. Be especially vigilant near cliffside sections where rockfall hazards exist -- loose rocks and debris have been observed, so use caution. Beyond Mile 6, the trail begins a steady climb into the surrounding hills, offering changing terrain and potential for scenic views as you gain elevation.
