Trail Overview
This is a short loop where you'll get a bird's eye view of Southern Utah's "geological staircase," including Fort Pierce, the Arizona Strip, and the towering heights of Zion National Park, Gooseberry, and Kolob. Accessible directly off Highway 59 via M4071 and BLM 2100, the terrain is a classic mix of hard-packed dirt, sand, and slickrock. It's a quick loop journey, but it serves as the perfect introduction to the Little Creek area's vast network of scenic overlooks. Wanting to understand the layout of Southern Utah, you can see it from this "Third Mesa," which offers an immense 360-degree panoramic view that comes to life. The horizon opens to reveal the jagged beauty of the Arizona Strip, leading to the Grand Canyon and the distant, rugged peaks of Kolob and Zion National Park.
