Trail Overview
This is an out-and-back trail that follows an easy, mostly single-lane gravel road for the first 3/4 of the trail. When you pass the large turnaround area, the trail gets narrow and has some small hills and slight off-camber areas that any higher clearance vehicle will have no problem with. It meanders through scenic sections of Sumter National Forest just beyond the Georgia/South Carolina line. At the end of the trail is a large parking and possible dispersed camping area that is right next to the Chauga River. The area is quiet and remote, with minimal traffic and natural surroundings that make it ideal for a relaxed drive or casual exploration. Cell phone service can be limited or unavailable, so it's best to plan and bring any necessary supplies in case of an emergency.

Difficulty
The first 3/4 of the trail is very easy with no notable obstacles, but once you pass the large turn-around area, it turns into a narrow dirt/mud trail, depending on the weather, with some smaller hills with slight off-camber areas. 4WD might be needed getting back out if it is very wet.
