Trail Overview
Caney Creek is a generous single-lane-wide point-to-point trail mostly within the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge, connecting Round Oak-Juliette Road to Jarrell Plantation Road. There is a shortcut to the Little Rock Wildlife Drive in the middle, but the gate is typically closed, so don't count on using it. The southwest end along Jarrell Plantation is within the Hitchiti Experimental Forest and shortly transitions to the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge. The trail surface is primarily packed Georgia clay with crushed rock added for stability. Shortly after the intersection with Hitchiti Road heading northeast, the trail crosses Falling Creek over a single-lane concrete-decked bridge with guardrails. This trail is only accessible by highway-licensed vehicles.
