Trail Overview

This trail is a hard-packed dirt trail that winds through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. There are side trails to explore throughout the forest, some of which may be rutted and muddy depending on weather conditions. The main trail is typically wide and easy to pass oncoming vehicles, but the side trails tend to be narrower.

The majority of the trail is hard-packed dirt and can be done in a stock 4x4, however, portions of the side trails may require high clearance due to ruts.

Status Reports

We did a small section of this trail near Perch and Spruce Lakes. Some light sand and zero mud. A bit dusty. We saw two other vehicles on the trail.

There were two parts to the trail, one that starts in the south west part and then half way goes through town. And the second part that's more north. On the south part, there were some pretty high hill climbs and rocks. The second part was not as high of hill climbs but more tight turns, some rocks, and ruts. We saw one other jeep on the trail. The trail itself is pretty tight, enough for just a single vehicle with no turn arounds. Expect some pin stripes as well. Overall a great ride and would recommend. But I would give it a 3 instead of a two for difficulty due to the high climbs, ruts, and quick turns.
