Trail Overview
West Rockaway Hills Road serves as a connector trail leading toward the Opportunity Trail. It runs east-west as a point-to-point route and provides a fun drive through the desert. The trail features large ruts formed from past rainfall, so drivers should watch their speed and line choice while traveling. Along the route, you'll find camp rings suitable for dispersed camping. This connector also provides access to Interstate 17 via North 41st Drive. The trail is lined with classic desert vegetation, including creosote, prickly pear, and cholla cactus. Several intersecting trails cross through this area. The Fence Line Connector leads toward a nearby shooting area. The trail is located on Arizona State Trust Land, and a State Trust Land permit is required to access the area.
