Trail Overview

This forest road is probably best known for Buzzard Rocks Vista near its midpoint, which offers a nice view from the Sliding Rock Mountain across Hairy Springs Hollow to the west. The north end has about 500 feet of elevation change up from or down to the valley beyond the forest. The road itself is a nice drive, gently undulating between and around knobs on the ridge. Unfortunately, the vista itself has often been a place for illegal campfires and parties. Consider bringing a trash bag and helping by picking up any debris you find. There is some graffiti on the rocks here to which is sad to see. However, recent enforcement and cleanup efforts do seem to be making a difference vs 3-4 years ago. Definitely a stop you should make when in Michaux!
