Trail Overview
Trail Ss1059 is a point-to-point trail that can be run from Artesia Road or Ss1004. It is a sandy gravel trail lined with creosote, cholla, and yucca, with a few wildflowers in the spring along the way. Easy drive and 2WD accessible. Nice views of the Gila National Forest and Mount Graham. This trail has a few whoops. Watch your speed; these will hurt. Plenty of jackrabbits out here running from coyotes. At the first Y, continue right, and at the 2nd Y, go left through a narrow gate. Keep the gate closed (cattle present), and the trail comes to an end at Trail Ss1004. This is an Easy, non-technical route that quickly dead-ends at Ss1004. The trail can be run in both directions.
