Hanifin Road

Trail Overview

This seasonal road cuts through the heart of the Swancott Hill State Forest. Offering many views of old farmsteads that dotted the region, along with some old bridges and dam ruins. There is an old graveyard along with two campsites towards the north end of the track. This is a fairly well-travelled road, so always be aware of your surroundings. This track is a snowmobile trail in the winter months and is signed as such. Even though the trail seems signed for ATV and SxS, they are NOT legal at this time in this general area.

Difficulty

This trail starts on the south side, wide and relatively smooth, but as you progress northward, the trail becomes rocky with some small washouts possible and ruts. The stones are softball-sized and below, and will kick up if you aren't being smart with your speed.
