Trail Overview
Tiplady Trail is an easy bidirectional trail within the Department of Natural Resources. Located just north of Dexter Township between Highway 96 and 94, this trail is easily accessible. This trail is also within the Reichert Nature Preserve. Starting from the eastern end of Dexter Pinckney Rd, you'll start out on a mostly dirt road with thick and lush vegetation edging the trail. You'll twist and turn along this route, taking in all the trees and water. Be sure to take it all in. The forest and nature are the highlights of this trail, beyond the fact that it's a quick connector trail. About three-quarters of the way into this trail, you'll come upon the Huron River Watershed Portage (Hell) Creek. Remember, please TREAD LIGHTLY so future generations can enjoy these public spaces. Like most of Michigan's offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, ruts, and washouts. Come Prepared! Most of this trail is 2 vehicles wide with several places to pass. This is not a difficult trail, but dit oes contain a lot of natural beauty. This trail also gives access to other great off-road trails nearby. The western end of the trail finishes at Silver Hill Trail, so if you haven't checked that out, you can do so after this one! Regardless of the conditions or length of this trail, it's a cool route to check out! As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails!
