Trail Overview

What starts out as a gradual, winding ascent into the trees, finishes off as a rambunctions scramble up a rock field that will have you, as the name implies, clapping your cheeks on your seat as you bounce up the trail. This trail is like a smorgasbord. It has something for everyone. Some parts are mellow and tranquil. Other parts are rowdy and majestic.

Difficulty

The last 1/4 mile of the trail is steep and climbs up a fieldstone rock field that steps the entire way up the trail. 3/4 to the top of the trail, the road consists of white, silty clay that is heavily rutted. This section will undoubtedly be extremely sloppy and mucky when it is wet. Trail is closed from Sept 30th to June 1st.
