Trail Overview

Trail 71 is a 0.7-mile connector between Trails 93 and 54 that offers a bit more variety than the smoother, flowing roads nearby. It features a steep descent with loose rocks and loamy soil that can be slick and rutted in places. There are a few shelfy sections and embedded rock surfaces, but they're manageable for most riders. The trail narrows in spots as it follows the edge of the mountainside through a lush, shaded forest, with the route generally tracing the natural contour of the terrain.

Difficulty

This is an intermediate SxS route due to steep grades and rutted sections, although it should still be manageable for riders with an average level of experience. Note that this is considered Most Difficult by Hatfield McCoy's rating system.
