Trail Overview
DA 198 is a highly advanced singletrack trail offering a technical and demanding ride in either direction. From the north end, it begins with a steep, rocky descent featuring a series of 2-foot-tall stair-step drop-offs and narrow, tree-lined paths with slick roots, downed logs, and a troughed surface. A pipeline runs along parts of the trail, and there's a brief open viewpoint under the powerlines before the intersection with DA 195. South of the intersection, riders face a steep, technical climb into a wide shelf obstacle composed of multiple ledges with several line choices, but it will be greasy and slick, especially in wet conditions. An easier ridge section offers a short reprieve in the middle of the route, before descending once again into challenging ledges on a steep slope. This trail is not recommended for inexperienced riders as the obstacles are frequent and highly technical.
