BM 98

Trail Overview

BM 98 is a 0.5-mile moderately advanced SxS route that also accesses the BM 199 single-track. From the west entrance, it begins with an extremely steep, rocky ascent featuring loose rock and foot-deep ruts, followed by tight switchbacks and embedded rock layers forming 6-inch shelves. The trail maintains a steep grade throughout, then descends the backside of the hill with equally steep, rutted switchbacks--making it a challenging detour best suited for experienced drivers.

Difficulty

This is an intermediate route because it has steep rocky loose hills and descents that are deeply rutted. This trail can become much more difficult in slick conditions. Note that this is considered Most Difficult by Hatfield McCoy's rating system.
