Trail Overview

BM 90 is a challenging double black diamond route in the Buffalo Mountain Trail System, suited for highly skilled drivers. From the north end, it begins with a steep descent on a wide shelf path marked by loose rock, ruts, and embedded rock layers, then transitions into a flatter, forested section with waterbars and tighter terrain. In the middle, riders navigate through a section like a dense tree tunnel with low branches, roots, and tight corners under a heavy tree canopy, before a rocky hillclimb that marks the beginning of the technical ascent. The rest of the trail is a sustained, technical climb filled with loose, slippery rocks of all sizes and uneven surfaces. The ascent includes several switchbacks, one featuring a 1-foot embedded rock shelf, another with a 2-foot shelf, and narrowed, troughed sections. These obstacles will require careful line choice from skilled drivers. The trail concludes at its junction with BM 29 on the south end.
