Trail Overview
BM 186 has a wide, rutted, and steep climb from the south, with embedded rock and clear signs of ATV use--widened to two-track width in places. It starts out easy, passing scenic boulders and rock walls, then narrows as it enters more technical terrain. Deep muddy ruts, slick embedded rock, and steep climbs define the middle section, with tight split-line choices and several bigger downed logs that require crossing. The trail transitions onto a narrow ridgeline and becomes a proper single-track experience, with a steep descent featuring one-foot rock shelf drop-offs and overgrown tree branches. Momentum and traction are key, especially in wet conditions.
