Trail Overview

This is a forest road leading from Wilkeson up into the mountains. The trail starts off nice and wide (approx 3 car widths) and continues up varying paths that wiggle down to a single lane. There is a variety of terrain in this section from dirt, gravel, loose rock, and mud. At this point in the season, we were unable to complete the whole run due to the current snow/ice.

Difficulty

I chose a level 2 because I personally felt that this was not a challenging route. There are potholes and some loose rock but no ledge drops, large puddles or other additional obstacles. Please note there is currently some minor tree fall from winter season. I have a tall rig (7+ft) and was fine going under them but did go slow at I made contact with branches on occasion.

Starts out muddy with scattered areas of potholes of various depths and some minor runoff ruts, road is pretty wide as well. Mud and dirt starts turning into rock and dirt and path starts to narrow. Ruts start to get a little deep but space to maneuver, path starts to get pretty rocky but must rocks no higher than 12”. Once at elevation there was snow and ice and deep runoff and traffic ruts, turned around when snow started getting deep. There were two bridges as well, one had a big pothole at the entrance the width of the bridge and full of water and the other had asphalt that was completed deteriorated at one end leaving a decent ledge and a large puddle.
