If you are traveling between Leavenworth and Wenatchee and want to get off the boring highway, take this scenic forest route. The trail starts out going through some residential areas, and as you go along, you will find several spurs off it for other trails to take and explore. There is some dispersed camping in the area.

This is a very easy road in spring and summer when the road is free of snow and rain. During winter months, the snow and rain can make it impassable for those who don't have 4WD. In the summer months, any car can do it.

It's an easy trail, really great scenery, and there weren't many people on it. It was dusty, and had areas that were fairly rough and had washboard.

Open but with snow / ice, I turned around halfway. I wouldn’t recommend it without chains.
