Trail Overview
West Magic Mountain is a 5-mile track that runs west from the top of Magic Mountain and eventually connects to the Sidewinder Alternate trail. From the top, this trail is cut into the hillside and traverses across the mountain. You'll eventually descend about ~500 ft and hit a bunch of turns in an open grass field. The track then crosses Rusty Drum and a long flat area before connecting to Sidewinder Alternate. The ground surface higher up is generally loose and embedded rocks, but transitions to sandy dirt in the flat area.
