Trail Overview

This is a nice trail that takes you past lots of old mining camps and through an amazing slot canyon. There is lots of dispersed camping in the area you just have to keep your eyes open. You get amazing views of Temple Mountain and lots of varied terrain from rocky and loose to sand washes. Be aware of the weather as a flash flood from a storm would be devastating and fatal if caught in the slot canyon section. Do not attempt it there are storms around.

Wash is sandy, some of the trail sections are prone to washout and have small ledges.

Several of us really enjoyed this route and some thought it was too difficult. You have to stick to the main trail for the easiest route. We took one of the harder routes that went higher up the mountain and had to turn around due to lots of large rocks. There were nine of us in our group. We had everything from a 1250 GS adventure to a 500 KTM.

Great trail! Nothing too difficult. Amazing scenery and old mines!

It was a little confusing to stay on the trail in a couple spots and a few spots where we'd have liked to air down the tires but our air compressor battery is fried. Overall, very fun.
