Trail Overview

Dead Cow Wash is a must-ride trail in the Whitewash OHV area that rides through a sandstone slot canyon often filled with a foot or more of water in places, making for a very unique ride. The slot canyon is known as The Tubes, and they are a series of rock ledges, with a pool of water underneath each ledge. If you ride counter-clockwise, you will be riding up The Tubes. Clockwise will take you down the Tubes for an easier ride. It gets very hot in this part of Utah in the summer, so this can be a very refreshing ride even in late Spring or Fall. All of the ledges are moderately difficult, especially when wet. The bottom of the slot canyon takes you to a sandy wash along the Colorado River. The other half of the trail is a fast desert single track with lots of whoops and loose rock.

Difficulty

Several rock ledges in the slot canyon make this an intermediate trail.
