Bald Mountain - FS 70043

Trail Overview

Bald Mountain (FS 70043) leads from pines and aspen groves on the west side to a breathtaking, expansive prairie on the east. The road is primarily compacted dirt with some rocks. About 1.3 miles in from the west side is a wide section of road that has rows of ruts about 8 to 10 inches deep. Ruts can be expected further down the trail as it narrows. During times of rain or snow, these areas may be quite muddy. While there is a section of shelf road on Bald Mountain, it isn't too extreme. Cell service is spotty.

This road is mostly even and wide, however there are sections that are very uneven with deep ruts. The road narrows in places.
