Trail Overview

This route will take you on a journey through the mountains to the upper parking lot area, near the refurbished fire tower. Once at the parking area, it is a 20-45 minute hike to the fire tower depending on the route you take. The fire tower offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. This forest service road is in decent shape but you will encounter an array of potholes that can be jarring if carrying too much speed. There are a few muddy spots and narrow road areas that could be potentially dangerous. There is an ATV/OHV crossover at the top of the mountain near the end of the trail, be cautious in this area as some riders don't yield. Cell service is spotty but available near the top of the mountain/fire tower area. There are a few spur trails that can be explored throughout the journey. The trail is closed in the winter months.

The trail was beautiful. Further up we ran into clouds and that was a site to see( See photos above.). Had to rush down the mountain cause the sun was going. It was raining and cause parts of the trail to get a little slippery but it wasn't bad at all. My little Subaru made it well.
