Trail Overview
This road is seasonally open during the fall and offers unmatched views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The first part of this route is very easy to drive and crosses countless bridges over small mountain streams, eventually concluding at a large open campsite along the river. Along the route there is only one obstacle for this section and it is a series of 3 concrete culverts with around a foot of vertical clearance needed. This area is great for wildlife viewing and fishing; however, with the added popularity of the area, it has become heavily traveled, so make sure to stay on the trail and watch your speed.
