This trail provides access to Center Trail (photo seven) in the Northeast Rhode Island Trail Network and is the shortest route to Carl Erickson Covered Bridge on Inner Border Trail.

Access Description

This trail is normally accessed from Route 44 via Safari Trail which is the access road to Bowdish Lake Camping Area (photos one, two, and three). This bypasses the narrow and twisty single-lane heavily populated southern end of Rickardson Clearing Trail which the residents don't want through traffic on (photo four). Photo five shows where Rickardson Clearing Trail continues towards the left as Safari Trail bends right towards the campground.Safari Trail is blocked off at Route 44 in the winter upon the first significant snowstorm.
