Trail Overview
White Deer Pike is primarily a graded gravel road. There is a short western section over the Interstate 80 bridges that is paved. The pike runs east all the way to the village of White Deer Pike, but from the Mile Run Exit of Interstate 80 eastward, it is paved. It is an easy ride in the summer months, but there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice, the road can become rutted and harder to travel on. White Deer Pike is within Bald Eagle State Forest. There are numerous spots to stop along this road and enjoy the foliage and possible wildlife. This region of Pennsylvania is a great place to explore during the fall when the leaves are changing color, and the full beauty of the State Forest is on display.
