Trout Run Road South is primarily a graded gravel road with sections of dirt. It is a dead-end road with the last part being all dirt. It is an easy ride in the summer months, however there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice the road will become rutted and harder to travel on. Trout Run Road South is within Tiadaghton State Forest. It dead ends on the south at Pine Creek.

It can become rutted and washed out during times of heavy rain and spring snow thaw. There can be water in the ruts and they will become slick and muddy, especially at the southern end of the road where is is dirt.
