Trail Overview

Skunk Loop - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Located at the Northern End of the park, Skunk Loop should be able to be traversed by anyone with a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS. At 7/10ths of a mile in length, it is a U-shaped Loop Trail. With one end starting on Coyote Pass Trail, Skunk Loop travels a variety of terrains. One section has some mud up to a foot deep, but the remainder of the trail is mostly smooth with embedded rocks. There are a few loose rocks and some rutting. Skunk Loop had a section rerouted in the 2025 season due to the windmill construction project. Now, you travel around Turbine 21, which you can stop and see up close. Otherwise, the trail is in the woods and has a few areas with some large rocks, which the kids can play on if they choose. There is one intersection on the trail with Fern Way. Watch out for the trail's namesake; they are stinky! This trail is open to motorcycles, SxSs, and ATVs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Difficulty

This is an easier dirt trail with some uneven and rutted sections. You will encounter some mud in locations, loose rocks, and obstacles under 12 inches. This trail is one vehicle wide with locations to pass.
