Panther Road is primarily a graded gravel road. It is an easy ride in the summer months;however, there is no winter maintenance. During rain, snow, and ice, the road will become rutted and washed out, making it harder to travel on. Panther Road is within Sproul State Forest.

Panther Road is an easy ride in the summer months, however there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice the road will become harder to travel on. It will become worse in the spring thaw and rainy seasons. There could be areas of small rutting and some washout. There could also be areas of water.

History

Panther Camp is an old Civilian Conservation Corps work site S-79 active from 1933 to 1937 outside the village of Kato. You can hike up to the old camp and spend some time exploring.

Access Description

Panther Road is primarily a north - south running road. It is accessed on the north from Pennsylvania State Route 144 south of Renovo in Clinton County. It ends on the south at the intersection of the Kato Orviston Road in the village of Kato.
