Trail Overview
Oak Ridge Trail is a seasonal access road in Tioga State Forest, generally open from Early October to Late February. It begins as a mild shelf road up to the switchback, and continues thorugh dense hardwood forest. The trail becomes a wide gravel haul road about 1 mile in. It continues off gravel, following a pipeline to a clearing, and then steeply downhill to the turn-around. Other than the gravel road portion, trail surface is primarily mud and dirt. The trail will have limited maintenance, and no winter maintenance except for the gravel road which will be well maintained as long as the gas companies are operating in the area.

Difficulty
The beginning trail section has a lot of water flow from springs and runoff, so wash outs and mud are highly possible. The pipeline and final trail segment will likely be muddy with potential for ruts and puddles. The final short section of trail from the clearing down to the bottom is closer to a 4/10 difficulty, but this trail overall averages an easy 3/10.
