Trail Overview

Nolan Road is an easy, smooth gravel road in Moshannon State Forest that connects from Route 153 to Mountain Run Road and provides access to Evans Fire Road. It is always open to Evans Fire Road; there is a seasonal gate just beyond the intersection during camp season for the Boy Scout camp at the south end of Nolan Road - typical closure dates for this gate are June 1st to August 15th. There are no obstacles of note on this road; winter maintenance will be limited to none, and there are a few short hills that could be very dangerous if icy conditions exist. Wilson Run Creek can be accessed from the north end of the road.
