Trail Overview

Mark's Way - A trail of Rock Run Recreation Area. Mark's Way is an original trail to the park and was renamed in 2026 to honor former Rock Run Board Member March Lechene, who passed in the Fall of 2025. Mark was a founding and long-serving member of the non-profit board of directors, responsible for much of the success and growth of Rock Run. At a half mile in length, Mark's Way serves as a direct route from the lower parking area to many of the trails in the Southeast section of the facility. Mark's Way starts near the entrance to Saddleback Campground, crosses Clayworks Drive, and ends at Trail 5E. Mark's Way passes by the small play area near the Pines Campground and parallels a section of McKinley Drive, though there is no direct access to McKinley. Mark's Way should be able to be traversed by most any rider on a motorcycle, ATV, or SxS. It is a variety of both embedded and loose rock, along with some potential rutting and changing conditions due to water runoff. It is a one-lane wide trail with a few places to pass. This trail is open to bikes, ATVs, and SxSs. This is a two-way trail and offers a different experience riding it both directions. Trail driven and documented in January 2026.
