Trail Overview
This out-and-back trail leads to a solid campsite perched along the edge of a hill, offering some nice views--especially during the spring and fall when visibility opens up. This area has a strong history of natural resource extraction, which is very evident on your way to this trail. You'll notice relics such as old valves and pipes scattered along the trail, adding a unique character to the ride. The final stretch--about the last 50 yards--gets very tight. Expect some pinstriping from the brush, and it's a good idea to roll your windows up before pushing through.

Difficulty
The only part that could be described as challenging is towards the end, where you will encounter a quick drop in elevation, and in wet weather, the mud/rocks could get pretty slick. Access to this trail is found along Shawmut Grade Road, which is a very active natural resource extraction corridor. Always be aware of industrial traffic on that road all around you and move over when possible. The dust kicked up by the large trucks in dry conditions creates zero visibility situations.
